What is Bill of Materials (BOM)? – Definition
Bill of Materials (BOM) : A list of all of the items that make up a product or assembly. The list is complete for its given purpose, has a formal structure, and states the name, quantity, and unit of measure for each component. A comprehensive PLM solution should offer support for the following categories of BOM: feature and requirements structures, material BOM, document structure, equipment Bill of Materials (BOM), functional location Bill of Materials (BOM), sales order BOM, and work breakdown structure BOM.
